In The News – In a Minute

Followers of Olympic hottie-hot-hot Michael Phelps should be happy with him dominating NBC’s Olympics television coverage and everyone else’s for that matter. He’s earned 8 gold’s. Rod can’t stop watching, (he’s a long time fan.)

Meanwhile, across the US college presidents from about 100 of the nation’s best-known universities, including Duke, Dartmouth and Ohio State, are calling on lawmakers to consider lowering the drinking age from 21 to 18. (I’m sure this is a popular move.)

In California Christian doctors who refused a lesbian fertility treatment have neither a free- speech right nor a religious exemption from California law.

Also in California; the family of a gay teenager who was fatally shot in class blames the school district for allowing their son to wear makeup and feminine clothing to school. King, an eighth-grader at E.O. Green Junior High School, was shot in February. [More on this later.]

In political news; Gay sex site, Manhunt.net’s cofounder Jonathan Crutchley has stepped down as chairman of the company after it became known he contributed the maximum possible amount ($2,300) to John McCain’s presidential campaign. He’s being hit hard and defended proudly but that doesn’t stop many from calling him a “Self hating homosexual” on many blogs while others quickly point out that Gay does not mean Democrat.

Again in political news, Pastor Rick Warren was the interviewer at his Saddleback [mega] church this weekend. Pastor Rick took on McCain and Obama separately and by most accounts McCain did better than Obama; which would be expected considering Obama’s stance on abortion –among other issues.

In the Rio Grande Valley there has been more rain in some areas causing even more flooding. I can’t help but wonder if boat sales will go up due to the fact that elected idiots can’t solve drainage problems.

And that was the news –in a minute. (Maybe more for slower readers) :)
